Chance to learn to make chutney

The Transition Town Wellington are holding a chutney-making session on Saturday 17th October at the Methodist church, 12.30-4.30. This follows a successful soup-making session and apple- juicing day within the last month.

As the Sustainable Food Group, an offshoot of TTW, they hope to help people in Wellington learn the skills of using, storing and cooking with seasonal vegetables, so we may be more sustainable in our food needs.

They hope to show how cooking and eating healthy, locally grown food is easy for novice cooks, plus can be tasty, as well as save money! So why not come along to the chutney making afternoon, it’s great fun, and children are welcome, as long as supervised by an adult, as chutney is hot when cooking!

Everyone will chop the vegetables together, take turns in stirring, try pre-made chutney in the tea break, and will share out the produce and recipes to take home. This event is free and no there is need to book, however donations are welcomed to help them run these events.
