Tribute South West Regional Two: Crediton 21pts, Wellington Chiefs 12
Despite another battling performance, Wellington Chiefs went down to defeat at Crediton yesterday (Saturday).
It all started so well as they turned in a great display to lead 12pts-7 at half-time.
The visitors went ahead after 12 minutes with an unconverted try by Jason Rowlands.
The dominant Chiefs extended their lead 15 minutes later as Arthur Burns-Cox went over for a try which was converted by Alex Davey.
Crediton hit back against the run of play with an unconverted try on the half-hour.
The hosts then took the lead after the break with a converted try before extending their advantage as a dropped pass led to another try with the extras again added.
That was the final score of the afternoon which the Chiefs will view as “one that got away” after a superb effort.
The Chiefs will be looking for their first win next Saturday when they are home to Penzance & Newlyn.
