Tribute South West Two: Topsham 54pts, Wellington Chiefs 3
Wellington Chiefs suffered a heavy defeat in Devon yesterday (Saturday).
Looking to get back to winning ways, the game started well enough for the Chiefs as Alex Davey put them ahead with a penalty.
But it turned into a disappointing afternoon as Topsham then took control.
They ran in three tries – two of them converted – to lead 19pts-3 at half-time.
In the second half, Topsham scored five more tries, all converted, to complete a convincing victory.
There was better news for Wellington 2nds who recorded a 27pts-14 win over Tor at the Athletic Ground.
On Saturday, the Chiefs are home to Cullompton while the 2nds travel to Castle Cary.
