Ad Hoc Voices provided the music at the Upper Culm Valley Mission Community service of Holy Communion held at St Mary’s Church, Hemyock.
They were under the baton of well-known Musical Director, Laurence Blyth, and accompanied on drums, keyboard and guitar
It was a rare chance to hear The Jazz Missa Brevis written in 2017 by composer Will Todd, a UK leading figure in choral jazz.
The setting allowed the large number in the congregation to experience the jazz inspired music with the congregation joining in well-known hymns to much loved tunes.
The service was led by Rev Vanessa Cole assisted by Diana Cooper, readings given by David Bawler and the Rector with Sally Lister leading prayers.
Following the service, refreshments were enjoyed.
