Wellington Choral Society has been awarded £1,547.45 by the town council to help buy lighting. The society is the oldest choir in Wellington and was founded in 1940 during the early days of WW2. Its aim is to learn and present sacred and secular works and to support other musical and charitable activities. The group has around 80 members of all ages. he society would use £409.35 of its own money towards this project but has not applied for funding from any other source. It received a town council grant of £2,997.36 in November 2017 to buy staging. Both the staging and lighting will be made available for other groups to use.
