The St John’s Church Coffee Morning on Saturday was extremely well supported and raised an incredible £1,172 towards church funds.
The church reports …
The coffee morning team worked hard to produce many delicious cakes and preserves and were very grateful to those who bought them as they raised over £300.
However, it was the plant stall which proved most profitable. Many keen gardeners brought tables of colourful perennials and annuals. In total, this stall made £385 which surprised everyone.
The next coffee morning will be on September 5th and four independent stallholders will be there alongside the usual raffle, refreshments and cake stall.
St John’s is now looking forward to its Patronal Festival next month which will include the age-old tradition of ‘Clipping the Tower’ (full details to follow).
