Coffee mornings for lovers of small dogs

Regular coffee mornings for owners/enthusiasts of small dogs are launching in Wellington tomorrow (Wednesday).

The first meeting takes place in Coffee #1, Fore Street, from 10am to 12 noon.

The coffee mornings are being organised by Kristine Richards who says: “The meetings will be relaxed and informal.

“They will take place every other Wednesday to start off and are for smaller sized dogs – please keep them on a lead.”

Kristine’s story

My dog is called Flag (pictured above) and we’ve been on quite a journey together these past few years, both literally and metaphorically.

I never now underestimate the loyalty and support/ love they give to their special human guardian.

Flag was only merely a cheeky, quirky little puppy when I had my cancer diagnosis around seven years ago. I had no idea where our lives would lead!

Skip forward around four years later, through isolation through COVID and other changes, I started my dog owners’ groups in Torbay.

They became immensely popular in the area and eventually we expanded. Flag became ‘ honorary mayor’ of the village, spreading his unique charm and putting smiles on people’s faces and enabling us to raise money for local charities. also distributed ‘micro stories of Flag’ which amused his best fans! Quite rightly people, remember Flag and not me.

We have now moved to Wellington and love it.

We are honoured to restart our friendly groups here and can’t wait to meet some wonderful new people for this, our exciting new chapter!
