Wellington Choral Society’s Come and Sing event today (Saturday) brought together regular members of the choir with those interested in joining them for one or more of their scheduled concerts over the coming months.
New singers were welcomed to the event at Wellington Prep School Hall.
Musical Director Laurence Blyth introduced the singers to some of the choruses from Mozart’s Mass in C Minor which will feature in the choral society’s next concert on Saturday, 28th November. Rehearsals begin in September.
This Come and Sing event was ‘a chance to give us a try and see if you like what we do. We are a friendly choir and welcome new singers.You do not need to be able to read music.’
The choir is non-auditioned and already has between seventy and eighty members. New singers of all ages and abilities are welcomed.
The choir’s 2026-27 season opens with Mozart – Mass in C Minor, Ave Verum Corpus and Agnus Dei from the Coronation Mass.
The concert will be on Saturday, 28th November, at 7pm in St John’s Church.
