With the star shining at the top of the tower, the cold wind did nothing to stop about 100 people gather in the churchyard of St Mary’s, Hemyock, for the annual Crib and Carol Service.
Led by the Rev Vanessa Cole, Rector, children were invited to search the ground for the various characters as the story unfolded.
Nigel Atkinson accompanied the singing of well-loved carols on piano accordion
Many people took the opportunity to view the 25 decorated Christmas trees within the church before enjoying confectionery.
The following morning, the Rector welcomed a large congregation to a service of Holy Communion.
