Day at the museum for Wellesley Park pupils

Year 3 pupils at Wellesley Park Primary School enjoyed an exciting trip to Bristol Museum, perfectly linked to their History learning this term.

Here is the school’s full report …

They explored the Ancient Egypt exhibit in depth and took part in a brilliant hands‑on workshop where they handled real and replica artefacts, examined mystery objects from daily Egyptian life, and discovered even more history beyond the Egyptians.

The children were captivated by the incredible range of artefacts displayed around the museum – everything from beautifully decorated sarcophagi to ancient tools and jewellery.

There were plenty of “Wow!” moments as they made connections to all they’ve learned in class.

One of the highlights of the day was when the children discovered a secret door, just like the one featured in The Ancient Egypt Sleepover, the book we have been reading together this term!

This magical moment brought their learning to life and made the story feel wonderfully real.

A huge thank you to our amazing parent volunteers for supporting us on the trip – we couldn’t have done it without you!
