A driver, whose Landover tipped over in icy conditions on Burchills Hill at the weekend, has thanked everyone who came to her rescue.
Dawn Broom was travelling back to her home in Tonedale from Rockwell Green on Saturday morning when the accident occurred.
Trapped inside the vehicle, she was helped by several members of the public before the emergency services arrived.
Although shaken up, she was not taken to hospital.
Dawn said: “I’d like to thank the two men who were first on the scene, one of them was from Tim Potter Butchers and the other one held my hand – also the men who rang 999 and then contacted my family.
“Not forgetting the ambulance crew, the local fire brigade and the police.
“It was a frightening experience but they were all so helpful and both myself and my family are very grateful.”
Dawn, who works at Nynehead Court, is now recovering at home.
