One of Wellington’s grand Edwardian houses is for sale at a price of half-a-million pounds. The Grange in Wellesley Park – easily recognisable for its hexagonal bay window and turret – was until recently used by the Abbeyfield Society as a Care Home with many of its attractive period features retained, including a grand straight-rise staircase, galleried landing and stained glass inserts.
The Grange was built in 1906 and originally used as a girls’ school. Subsequently, it had a number of mixed uses until taken over by The Abbeyfield Society and was modernised to provide ensuite bedrooms, a self-contained flat, kitchens and lounge areas.
It is now on the market as either a large family home or as an opportunity for conversion into self-contained flats.
