The annual Christmas Coffee Morning by the Wellington Hospital League of Friends, staged in the Baptist Hall yesterday (Saturday), was a resounding success.
The friends say: “Thank you, thank you, thank you to all who supported us.
“We are very pleased to tell you the event raised at least £1,189.23 on the day. And this amount could rise once we confirm the sales via the card machine. This is is a terrific result and an increase on the previous year.
“It is always lovely to see those people who always support our events, no matter what the weather, but it was really good to see so many new faces this year; we hope you enjoyed it enough to come to our next event.
“We took the decision to use both rooms this year and we are so glad we did because there were definitely more people.
“Thank you to our extra helpers (we couldn’t do this without you), and to all those who contributed in any way.
“We are already planning our next fundraising event, in the spring when Wellington Operatic Society will be entertaining with an evening of Songs from the Shows. More information to come.”
