A Scottish company wants planning permission to build a filling station at Westpark 26, adjoining the Skylark Inn. The application was filed on behalf of Forelle Estates Ltd, with a iew to leasing the site to a major oil company such as BP or Esso.
At present Wellington has only two petrol stations; the Texaco site opposite Court Fields school and the Shell station at Longforth Road owned by the County Stores.
The Westpark26 developer Summerfield Ltd has applied for permission to build more industrial units at the estate. Earlier this month the town council recommended refusal of the company’s plan to build 22 new houses on land adjoining Cades Farm.
