Wellington Mayor Councillor Gary James has issued an open invitation to the whole community to join him at his Civic Service on Sunday 7 October in Wellington School Chapel.
The service will be part of the Harvest Festival Evensong starting at 6.30pm and include a collection of donations to Wellington Food Bank.
The Trussell Trust manages the town’s food bank from Wellington United Reformed Church which is just one of its 420 food banks operating from 1,200 centres across the UK to provide emergency food to people referred for support. In 2017 the network manned by 40,000 volunteers gave 1,332,952 three day emergency food supplies to people in crisis around the country.
There are two collection points for donations in Wellington – at One Stop in the High Street and at Waitrose.
