Great range of live music coming up in the next 10 days. First off are Trefellas playing the White Horse Inn at Bradford on Tone on Wednesday night at 8.00pm. Their mixture of Celtic and folk influenced songs has become hugely popular on the Blackdowns pub circuit.
Two Man Ting play a return gig at the Dolphin Inn, Waterloo Rd, on Thursday at 8.30. TwoManTing was formed in 2004, when Jon Lewis and Jah-man Aggrey were working together in world/dance band Le Cod Afrique, performing at the likes of WOMAD, Montreux Jazz Festival and Glastonbury.
They describe their genre as Sunshine Afro-Roots and if you’ve heard them you’ll know how quickly they make a crowd smile and want to dance.
Bap Kennedy plays the Beambridge Inn on Sunday, April 6, as a geographical diversion between gigs in Italy and Ireland. Having been a founder member of London-Irish folk-rockers Energy Orchard in the late ’80s, he toured with the likes of Steve Earle. Many fine solo albums have followed, including 2011’s Mark Knopfler-produced ‘The Sailor’s Revenge’ which spent many weeks at the top of various album charts.
“Bap’s new album ‘Let’s Start Again’ is a fine follow up, and we are delighted to have him come back to play here.With support from our own 3Bridges3, a great night of acoustic music is in store,” says promoter Nick Girone-Maddocks.
