Local environmental group Transition Town Wellington continues its busy summer programme with the following activities.
Friday at 9am: Community Gardening at Fox’s Field
To do whatever needs doing depending on the weather and who comes. If we’ve finished the pressing jobs of weeding, planting and clearing around the bushes on Tuesday, we can concentrate on mulching the new area with card, compost and wood chip.
Monday at 9am: Scything and Weeding at Longacre
We’re now in a barren phase according to the biodynamic calendar, so an ideal time for weeding and scything. We need to finish clearing around the fruit bushes to make them easier to harvest and if we have enough volunteers there are some areas to scythe.
Everyone is welcome to help, there’s no need to book and no prior experience is needed. Do wear suitable shoes and wear gardening gloves, tools are provided.
Please try to walk or cycle, and if you have to drive, please park a bit further away to avoid complaints from nearby residents.
