Work is nearing completing on the new £155,000 pump track at the bottom of the Recreation Ground – and Wellington Town Council is appealing for patience from potential users.
The council has led the project, in partnership with Wellington Sports Federation and the Wellington Pumptrack, Skatepark & Dirt Jumps group.
It will create a space designed for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy cycling, scooting, and skating in a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment.
A town council spokesperson said: “While we appreciate that the temptation to use the pump track before opening is strong, it is still not ready yet!
“Using the track before it is completed and signed off could delay its opening which would be a real shame as there are many people waiting to use it safely.
“The official opening of the track will be on Saturday, September 26th, from 10am to 2pm.
“Wellington Pumptrack, Skatepark & Dirt Jumps- Somerset are working with us to hold a launch event.
“In the meantime, please be patient and allow Clark & Kent Contractors Ltd to weave their magic.”
