Wellington started slowly but then shocked Keynsham by taking the lead when from a corner Jack Bryant knocked it back for Oliie Nott to score. Jake Viney was unfit so reserve team goalkeeper Ian Warren started, with both Carl Jones and Sam Towler retaining their places after doing well last week when they came on.
Keynsham came back and got on top but were unable to make their pressure tell. Wellington on the few times they managed to get forward created problems but were fortunate to go in at half-time 1-0 up.
The second half saw Wellington have a good 10 minute spell but some good crosses went across the goal with no final touch. Back came Keynsham and they were stunned after 4 shots were all blocked one after the other. Warren made the first save then Ellis, Legg, and Bryant all made fantastic blocks when Keynsham seemed sure to score.
Redrup then went through in a 1 on 1 but the Keynsham keeper saved. Keynsham came back again and finally broke down the Wellington resistance when they got to the by line and pulled it back for a header to beat Warren.Wellingtons hard working defence regrouped and managed to frustrate Keynsham for the remainder of the game. Jack Bryant had one last chance but the Keynsham keeper saved again.
Wellington were in the end happy with the point which continued their unbeaten run but have a tough week ahead.
Wednesday they are home to Frome in the Somerset Premier Cup and are then home to Chard on Saturday.
