Wellington Repair Café will be back on Saturday, from 10am to 12.30pm in the Scout Hall, off Fore Street.
The skilled team of repairers and menders – all volunteers – will be present once again to return all kinds of possessions including tools, electrical items, clothes, toys, jewellery, computers, phones and laptops – to perfect working order and save both environmental damage in waste and the owners the cost of replacement.
Repairs are carried out free of charge but donations are welcome. Proceeds go to cover the cost of publicity and the hire of the venue.
Please note that there will be no bookbinding this month.
Organisers say: “If you are bringing something that needs a new zip, you need to bring the new zip with you!
“If any sewing job needs something to be unpicked first, it would also help if you can do that at home rather than leaving it to the sewing ladies, as it takes a long time and means that they can mend fewer items in the time available.”
