The site manager of the Jurston Fields housing development on the south side of town has again received one of the housebuilding industry’s highest honours.
Grant Gibson of CG Fry & Son has been awarded an NHBC (National House Building Council) Pride in the Job Quality Award,
It is his second consecutive Pride in the Job award, following an outstanding year in which he also won the coveted 2025 NHBC Seal of Excellence Award.
Pride in the Job assesses site managers across six key areas, including consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise, and health and safety – with winners recognised for raising standards across the housebuilding industry.
Grant began his career as a carpenter, gaining valuable hands-on experience before progressing to material controller and later assistant site manager.
He joined CG Fry & Son alongside his father, who worked for the company as a project manager before retiring last year. Continuing the family’s passion for construction, Grant’s son is now undertaking a roofing apprenticeship.
Grant said: “I’m incredibly proud to receive my second Pride in the Job Award. We have a brilliant team at Jurston Fields and everyone takes real pride in what they do.
“We’ve built up a great rapport over the years and have a settled, experienced team who understand the standards we’re aiming for.
“Consistency is key. Every home we build is treated with the same level of care and attention to detail, and everyone on site is committed to getting things right first time. This award is a reflection of the pride, commitment and hard work everyone on site shows every day.”

Grant was one of four CG Fry & Son site managers to receive an NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award this year.
The winners will now go on to compete for Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards in the autumn, with the national Supreme Award winners unveiled in January.
