Over a thousand spectators turned out for the annual fireworks display staged by Wellington Rugby Club. On a crisp, clear night perfect for seeing the sky lit up by hundreds of rockets, roman candles and Catherine wheels, every inch of the grandstand and touchline was packed.
It’s the club’s second biggest event and fund-raiser – second only to the Boxing Day derby against Wiveliscombe. As last night’s commentator said, “I haven’t seen so many happy faces around this ground since the last time we beat Wivvy,”
The £3,000 fireworks display and pounding music were spectacular. As the photo gallery shows, every age from toddler to pensioner went home with stars in their eyes.
