Spectacular ‘Sister Act’ at Wellington School

Wellington School pupils raised the roof with an outstanding production of Sister Act last week.

Here is the school’s report …

With multiple castings, there was an awesome array of talent with all the performers delivering an unforgettable performance.

From powerful vocals to electric energy, students from Year 9-13 absolutely took the audience by storm.

The show throughout the week and the red carpet was rolled out for the gala performance finale on Friday.

Earlier, on Wednesday, the cast were honoured with a surprise visitor from the National Theatre Awards – an incredible moment, and we eagerly await their review.

Head of Drama, Mrs Claire Davies said: “From the very first rehearsal, something special began to happen.

“The room filled with laughter, music, and that unmistakable buzz of creativity.

“There were times when the path ahead felt uncertain, but in those moments, someone always stepped forward — offering an idea, a solution, or simply a smile that reminded me why we do this.

“That’s the magic of theatre. It’s never about one person; it’s about a community pulling together.

“And what a community this has been—every voice raised, every hand helping, every heart committed to making this show Fabulous, Baby!”

The music in Sister Act is full of life, and creating the choreography for such a vibrant score has been a wonderful challenge.

The students embraced every style thrown at them — from slick disco-inspired movement to playful character work.

Rehearsals have been full of laughter, hard work, and countless moments of “nun-stop” fun as the cast found their rhythm and truly learned to “spread the love around.”

This production has been a celebration of community, of finding joy in unexpected places, and of raising voices together.

It celebrates music’s power to transform, unite, and give voice to those who need it most—values that resonate strongly within the Wellington School community.

Well done to all the talented students, musicians and dedicated staff who made this production so special!
