About 100 people attended a Jobs Fair at the Kings Arms Community Hub today (Thursday), connecting local residents with employment, training and support opportunities available in Wellington and the surrounding area.
The event, organised by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), brought together employers, training providers and support organisations to offer advice, guidance and direct access to current vacancies.
More than 22 vacancies, all based in Wellington, were promoted during the event, helping attendees explore local opportunities and career pathways close to home.
They were able to speak directly with employers and support services, access information on training opportunities, receive advice on job searching and learn more about the support available to help them move into employment.
Dave Farrow, CEO/Town Clerk at Wellington Town Council, said: “The Kings Arms Community Hub was created to bring services, opportunities and support closer to local residents.
“This event is a great example of how the hub can act as a focal point for partnership working, helping people access employment opportunities, training and advice in the heart of their community.
“We are delighted to have welcomed so many residents and partner organisations to the hub.”
