After very careful consideration, the Town Council decided to proceed with the Cost of Living Crisis Summit given the seriousness of the issues being considered.
Councillors met with representatives of a range of voluntary and other organisations from the town to discuss what support was available to the community and how it could be promoted.
Dave Farrow, Town Clerk, said afterwards: “It was an incredibly useful morning.
“What is clear is that there are a large number of people and organisations totally committed to providing support to those in the town that may need it.
“We will be mapping everything that is available and considering how best to promote it so that people know what is out there if they need it.”
