WebberBus is opening a new bus-hub in Rockwell Green next month, creating new jobs for drivers, cleaners and supervisors.
The company will be opening a new out-station in Rockwell Green on the Ryelands Business Park on 16 January 2016. At the same time 16 new driver opportunities will be created alongside supervisory positions. A cleaning contract is close to being agreed with a local company.
The opening of the new out-station will coincide with improvements to a number of services both to and from Wellington. Webberbus also plans to operate two new services and significantly improve other routes in Taunton.
Tim Gardner, Managing Director of WebberBus, said, “This is an exciting opportunity. We have opened new depots before but this one is quite a sizable change for us in a town where we will be trying our hardest to work well for the local community”.
WebberBus has operated 15 routes from Burnham, Bridgwater and Taunton to Rockwell Green for a number of years and last year doubled the service with a new route, Service 12, to Tonedale. The move to Wellington brings extra peak-time services for workers and students along with the company’s reputation for reasonable fares and clean vehicles. A spokesman for the company said, “If things go well there are plans to expand the business from Rockwell Green later in 2016.”
