WOW! Poppies galore across Wellington

Wellington has been a hive of activity today (Monday) as Remembrance activities get into full swing.

Members of the Monumental Women of Wellington (WOW) spent the morning putting up hundreds of crocheted and kitted poppies across the town centre and park.

The spectacular poppy cascade is also in place on the front of the Conservative Club.

Today also saw the opening of Wellington Royal British Legion’s Poppy Shop in Fore Street while Poppy Appeal collections continue elsewhere, including in front of a former military Land Rover in High Street.

Proceedings got under way yesterday with the dedication of the Field of Remembrance outside Wellington Baptist Church in South Street. To see full coverage, CLICK HERE.
