A Year 11 student at Wellington School has achieved musical success in Bermuda where she lives.
Lilia has won first place in the Young Artist Composition Competition for the Bermuda Philharmonic Society.
She composed a piano and violin duet, The Glimpse, which will be performed by members of the Bermuda Philharmonic at their Spring Chamber Music Concert. She also won a $500 prize.
The adjudicators congratulated Lilia on her winning composition, saying: “We are thrilled to see such talent on the island, and it is an honour to help nurture your musical growth.”
A Wellington School spokesperson added: “Lila is a valued and integral part of the Music department and we are truly thrilled to celebrate such success!”
