Saturday will see the biggest-ever Food Town event, 10 years after Wellington’s first celebration of the outstanding food and drink available in the area.
Over 70 stalls will fill High St and South St, closed to traffic for the day, providing an amazing range of produce from artisan bread to local ciders.
Add in live open-mic music, open-air bar and cookery demonstrations from celebrity chef Jean-Christophe Navelli and the day can only be magical – providing the 2015 “summer weather” stays away. with 48 hours to go the forecast is good.
Organisers are expecting a record crowd of up to 15,000 people to throng the town. Parking is free for the day and High St and South St will be closed to traffic from dawn until dusk.
