The Kingsmead Time Capsule Team have collected all the material to be buried in a time capsule under the path to the new science block. A range of contents have been collated including a pupil’s DNA sample, photos, pupil and staff lists, information on life at the school, the Zambian Exchange, as well as a selection of badges and items of uniform.
All documentation has been produced on special archive paper and items will be sealed to help preserve the contents.
The team explain in their letters that “although these things may not look significant to those opening the time capsule in 50 years, they are important in daily school life in 2013”.
Team member Sarah Wilcox commented “It will be great for those opening the capsule in the future to see how little or how much our school lives have changed”.
