Huge crowds lined the route for Wellington’s annual carnival. Luckily the rainclouds that had hovered overhead all afternoon held off and thousands of people took the opportunity to see the parade of floats, majorettes, school groups and charity groups. It was the first event of the autumn carnival season in South Somerset and one of the biggest for a number of years.
