Wellington Bowling Club are holding a special fundraiser next week to support a local world champion.
Their Coffee Morning on Tuesday (10.30am to 1pm) will see proceeds split between the club and pool star Lisa Dart.
Lisa and her Northern Ireland team will be defending their eight-ball world title in Morocco.
While she lives in Wellington, Lisa’s dad is Irish and so she chose to represent the country.
They became world champions last year by beating France 8-4 in Ireland.
Lisa has been playing pool for more than 30 years and has racked up success after success at local, county, and national level as well as her international victories.
She also plays on the IRPT ladies’ and seniors’ tours and the Ultimate Pool ladies’ tour while, in the Wellington league, she is a member of Rattled Blacks who play at the Victoria Arms.
