Transition Town Wellington invites everyone to join in various community activities over the coming days.
Here’s the full programme:
Wednesday at 9am: Community gardening at Fox’s Field
We’re now in a biodynamic calendar phase to sow annuals so we will aim to move one or two more of the old bales to roll another 1/3 of the black plastic clearance mulch back to sow green manure seed, plus do some more weeding in the herb area if people prefer to do this.

Friday at 9am: Community gardening at Fox’s Field
We could work on the new bales to sow annual veg, or carry on with other jobs if preferred by those who come.
Friday: Wellington Community Food potato planting
Family and friends volunteer session to plant potatoes. Come down to the farm and enjoy some time outdoors helping a community project
Saturday: 10am to 12.30pm: Pop up Repair Cafe at Langford Budville
Wellington Repair Cafe is on tour with the support of Langford Budville’s Cafe Plus organisation, with Wellington’s usual team of repairers at Langford Budville’s village hall.
At the Repair Cafe, you can bring things to be fixed or repaired, for free! A team of volunteers will be on hand to help prevent items ending up in landfill. Donations are welcome and there is cake, tea and coffee available while you wait.
Trades available: electrics, sewing/textiles, sharpening, jewellery repair, clocks, general stuff, laptops, mobiles and tablets.
Next Tuesday (April 16th) at 9am: Scything and bramble pruning at Longacre
This session will be focused around the blueberry bushes, weeding around them, scything the grass in this area of the dip and removing brambles which are growing back.

Wellington Town Council Pop Up Climate Survey – runs until this Friday
To help in the development of our strategy to tackle climate change, the town council are asking Wellington residents to fill out short survey to let them know how we currently manage housing, transport, and waste in relation to the environment.
