Young cyclist Evan Richards from Year 8 at Wellington School, has won a major regional track race.
Evan competed against the top youth riders in the South West and won the final race of the South West Youth Cycling Series at Merryfield Airfield on Saturday where he beat a very strong field from all over the southern UK
The Youth Series is aimed at improving the standard of racing within the South West and is also used to help select representative teams for regional events. It is a fun and enjoyable activity for all competitors and successful riders will be expected to go on to National Youth Circuit Races.
This achievement sets Evan in good stead for a successful Cyclo-Cross season over the winter months. In the meantime he continues to ride the track having been selected to train as part of Welsh Cycling’s Project 2018 Programme.
