Wellington won their second game in a row with a hard-earned home win over Devizes. Playing down the slope Wellington started positively but almost went 1 – 0 down when Devizes broke through and Viney made a fine save.
Wellington went into the lead when Bellinger got to the bye line and pulled it back for Redrup to score. .Wellington increased their lead when Redrup went through and was brought down for a penalty. Skipper Duckenski confidently buried it to put Wellington 2 – 0 up at half time. Devizes now playing down the slope put Wellington under pressure and this was rewarded midway through the second half when they pulled one back from a free kick.
Wellington came back though and Duckenski put Redrup through for a rare right footed shot which beat the Devizes keeper to restore Wellington’s lead. Devizes came back and threatened again in a scrappy last 15 minutes but Wellington held on for the victory
