Transition Town Wellington have issued an open invite to their grand Fox’s Field Community Picnic on Saturday.
Opening at noon and running through the afternoon to 4pm, it includes a range of activities – including fun for children.
The event will take place in Fox’s Field Forest Garden.
Here’s TTW’s programme for the day:
12.15pm to 1pm: Tour of the Forest Garden including how to make a herbal bouquet.
1pm to 1.45pm: Wellington Ukes.
1.45pm to 2.15pm: Short talk on how to make cocktails and mocktails, herbal teas, jams, jellies and icecream from the harvest.
2.15pm to 3pm: Wellington Ukes:
3pm to 3.45pm: Tour of the Forest Garden including how to make a herbal bouquet.
TTW say: “Please walk or cycle but if you have to drive you can park in the car park behind the One Stop shop next to Tonedale Mill. The nearest postcode to the Tonedale entrance side is TA21 0DH.

“Everyone is welcome to join us in the field for our annual picnic. There will be children’s activities plus food and drink to sample throughout the afternoon – and it’s all free!
