SNOW rather than rain caused the latest cancellation of a Wellington home match. With the Playing Field pitch covered in snow the decision to cancel the fixture against Oldfield Abbotonians became inevitable as nearly every other game in the Toolstation League is also cancelled already. That means another match to fit into a busy second half of the season after rain caused a succession of cancellations over Christmas and the New Year.The first-team will be looking for an improvement in the weather by midweek as they are scheduled to play away to Sherborne Town on Wednesday (7.30pm).
Wellington rugby 1st XV also lost their away fixture to Kingsbridge because of the snow.
