Local politician Ross Henley is back with a seat on Taunton Deane council, having won a by election to be councillor for the Blackdown ward of the borough. This ward includes most of the area to the south of West Buckland.
The result makes Henley, a Lib Dem, a more significant figure in Wellington local government as he is now one of only three people to sit on Wellington town council, Taunton Deane district council, and Somerset county council. The other two are Andrew Govier and James Hunt.
Not the only councillor on WTC,TDBC and SCC. Cllr A.Govier,Cllr J Hunt is also on all of these,and they at least attend most of Wellington Town Council meetings or at least apologies when unable.
