Well-loved Head remembered

Members of Rockwell Green Primary School community planted a tree in the school grounds this week to remember the school’s former Headteacher, Rev George Todd, who passed away in October aged 95. Rev Todd was firstly a teacher and then Head of Rockwell Green School between 1962 and 1984.

The School contacted Rev Todd’s family following his death when many people used a local Facebook page to share their very fond memories of him. As a result it was decided that planting a tree would be a fitting tribute to him as a well-loved gentleman.

As well as members of Rev Todd’s family, the ceremony was also attended by former pupils, parents of the school and teachers as well as other members of the school’s staff. The Head boy and Head girl wrote a prayer which they read before presenting a copy to Mrs Todd.

The School would like to thank all those who came to mark the occasion.
