The affordable housing development of 26 houses, bungalows and apartments built on the site of the Weaver’s Arms pub in Rockwell Green has now been completed.
The project began in 2017 on land behind the pub and then extended to the site following its demolition. Ten houses and a toilet block were also knocked down to make way for the development, built for Somerset West and Taunton Council.
The council says the homes are energy efficient and include five with wheelchair access.
All 26 homes are subsidised to make them affordable for local people unable to purchase homes on the open market. Two of the homes have been sold as shared ownership.

The housing development is close to Rockets Pre School and Rockwell Green Primary School for parents with young children.
