There are now just 11 days to go before Wellington Pantomime Group’s production of Sleeping Beauty opens at the Wellesley – and plenty of tickets have already been sold.
People in and around the local community know that this award-winning company can entertain wonderfully and with a cast of young people – some of them very talented graduates of Genesis – and an experienced group of performers around them.
This is a show which is certain to make you laugh and feel a bit better about … everything!
All of pantomime’s most enjoyable elements will be there, on stage and produced by the able team backstage.
And that means a winning and well-known story, a princess (who sleeps for quite a long time but is woken by a kiss), a prince (who kisses), a villain, a loveable clown and a dame. And a king.
And music and dancing and magic and a castle … what’s not to enjoy?
Rehearsals are already taking place on the stage at the Wellesley and all the many technical elements – setting, lighting, sound, costuming, props – are being fine-tuned in very capable hands.
Sleeping Beauty is a production for everyone, from very young people right across generations. It opens at the Wellesley on Wednesday, 28th January, and runs until Sunday, 1st February.
There are evening performances at 7.30pm throughout the week with two extra shows on the Saturday at 10am and 2.30pm before one final bow on the Sunday afternoon at 12.30pm.
