With perfect weather once again, crowds turned out in big numbers for the latest Sunday concert hosted by the Friends of Wellington Park.
Bird Dogs provided a very popular musical mix, following strongly on their first appearance on the bandstand last summer, and brought the dancers on to the floor.
While the biggest crowds are found each Sunday near the action, the whole park – looking immaculate – provides a perfect setting for relaxation with big groups of friends and families gathering – both under trees and on the benches and lawns.
The Friends’ Sunday concerts continue until the end of August. The events are free but donations which help to cover the cost of the acts are welcome. Refreshments are available.
Next week’s concert is as usual from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Rockin’ Ronnie will be on the bandstand in a change from the published programme.
