A crowd of well over 300 enjoyed an afternoon of musical delight in the Friends of Wellington Park’s latest concert today (Sunday).
The group – Bird Dogs – are new to the Friends and came with a recommend from a regular member of the audience.
The Friends’ Sandra Nunn said that the team were delighted with the group’s popular mix of music which, despite the latest heatwave, attracted plenty of people to try out their moves on the dance floor – with some choosing the shady side.
As on previous Sundays this summer, groups of friends and families made the most of the sunshine – and the shade too – in Wellington’s lovely park.
Sandra said the response from the community to the concerts has been very positive with numbers following on social media increasing.
The concerts – which are free but donations are very welcome – continue until the end of August.
Next week, Tom Brain will bring his popular music to the bandstand from 2pm to 4.30pm.
