Both Wellington AFC and Wellington Chiefs will be looking to bounce back from defeats today (Saturday).
In football, the Tangerines are in Isuzu FA Vase action as they host Penzance in the second qualifying round at the Carly Press Ground at Wellington Playing Field (ko 3pm).
They lost 2-0 away to Saltash United in the league last Saturday and then parted company with manager Josh Stunell in midweek.
For this afternoon’s game, the side will be run by chairman Mike Hall, supported by skipper Glen Wright, and the club’s management committee are meeting tomorrow to discuss the vacancy.
Elsewhere today, the Reserves are away to Ottery St Mary 2nds but the A team game at Redgate has been called off. There’s no match for the Wildcats Ladies.
In rugby, the Chiefs are on their travels– they play at Crediton in Tribute South West Regional Two.
Something has to give as both sides have lost their opening two games of the season with the Chiefs going down 52pts-19 at home to Tiverton last Saturday.
Wellington 2nds and the Vixens Ladies are both without a fixture this weekend.
